Obverse description Bare-headed, youthful draped bust of Marcus Aurelius as Caesar, wearing paludamentum, facing right. The portrait displays the characteristic curly hair of the young Aurelius in provincial style. The Greek legend ΟΥΗΡΟϹ ΚΑΙϹΑΡ runs in the field around the bust, identifying the subject as Verus Caesar. The die work is typical of Pontic provincial coinage of the Antonine period.
