| Obverse description | Laureate head of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered in the typical provincial style of the Conventus of Miletus. The portrait displays the characteristic features of Trajan's effigy as adopted by Magnesian civic coinage, with the laurel wreath clearly delineated around the head. The Greek legend runs around the periphery of the flan. The flan is irregularly shaped, as is common for hammered provincial bronzes of this period, with the surfaces now showing a dark brown patina consistent with extended burial. |
