| Reverse description | Facing head of Medusa (Gorgoneion) depicted frontally within a radiate star pattern, the points of which frame the inscription. The Gorgoneion displays characteristic stylized features including a broad face, wide staring eyes, and prominent chin, rendered in a bold provincial style. The date legend ΕΤΟΥΣ Ξ (Year 60, corresponding to 28–29 CE in the Pontic era) is distributed among the points of the star. This type is associated with civic bronze coinage of Amisus under the reign of Tiberius. |
