The imperial effigy is rendered in the characteristic provincial style of the Conventus of Miletus, with the paludamentum visible over the cuirass. The obverse legend encircles the bust in Greek characters.

Reverse description Standing frontal figure of Hera of Samos, the principal deity of the island, wearing a kalathos (cylindrical headdress) entwined by a serpent. The goddess holds a patera in each outstretched hand, with ritual fillets suspended on either side of her figure. In some specimens, a crescent and star appear in the upper field flanking the deity, emphasizing her divine and celestial associations. The reverse legend naming the Samians appears in the field.
