| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Geta facing right, rendered three-quarter from the rear, displaying the paludamentum fastened at the shoulder. The imperial effigy is rendered in the provincial style typical of Aegaean civic coinage of the Severan period. The surrounding Greek legend is partially visible around the field, interrupted by the irregular flan edge. The bold, somewhat schematic portraiture is characteristic of the local mint's engraving tradition. |

| Reverse description | Asclepius, the god of medicine, depicted standing facing with head turned to the left, draped in a himation that falls in schematic folds about his lower body. He rests his right hand upon a tall serpent-entwined staff (the asklepios), the coiling serpent rendered in relief along the shaft. The figure is centrally placed within the field, with the ethnic legend partially disposed around the periphery. The reverse type reflects Aegae's strong cultic association with Asclepius, whose sanctuary was among the most celebrated in the region. |
