| 正面描述 | Laureate and draped bust of Septimius Severus facing right, portrayed in the provincial Greek idiom characteristic of Lydian civic coinage. Hermocapelia was a minor Lydian city whose civic coinage under Septimius Severus was tied directly to the political realignment following the civil wars of 193 — the so-called Year of the Five Emperors. Provincial cities across the Pergamene conventus issued bronze in their own names partly to demonstrate loyalty to whichever claimant looked most viable, and Hermocapelia was no exception. The city is archaeologically obscure; its precise location in the Hermus valley remains disputed.
