Obverse description Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Maximus Caesar facing right, rendered in three-quarter frontal perspective. The portrait displays the youthful features characteristic of the junior Caesar, with paludamentum over the cuirass visible at the shoulder. The Greek legend ΜΑΞΙΜΟϹ Κ curves around the bust in the field. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show typical patination consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the Severan period.
