| Obverse description | Laureate, cuirassed, and paludamentum-draped bust of Emperor Marcus Aurelius, characterised by a long beard with short curls, facing right and seen from the rear. The portrait reflects the mature imperial iconography associated with the early co-reign of Marcus Aurelius, with the paludamentum fastened at the shoulder. A partial Greek legend appears along the border, partially tooled. The workmanship is typical of a provincial mint operating under the Conventus of Adramyteum. |
