| Obverse description | Bare or lightly draped head of Zeus Akraios facing right, rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of Ionian civic coinage. The effigy displays the bearded visage of Zeus with traces of drapery at the neck. The encircling legend reads ΖΕΥϹ ΑΚΡΑΙΟϹ in Greek characters, with the Ζ notably reversed, a quirk attributable to the die-cutter. The overall fabric is irregular, consistent with hand-hammered provincial bronze production of the Antonine period. |
