| Obverse description | Bare-headed, laureate bust of Zeus Akraios facing right, with flowing locks and full beard rendered in the vigorous Hellenistic tradition, with slight traces of drapery visible at the truncation. The Greek legend ΖΕΥϹ ΑΚΡΑΙΟϹ is disposed around the bust in the field, with the zeta notably retrograde (reversed). The flan is irregular and the strike moderately centred, consistent with civic bronze coinage of Roman Ionia. |
