Obverse description Draped bust of Zeus Akraios facing left, depicted in the bearded, mature divine type characteristic of Smyrnean civic coinage. The figure wears drapery over the left shoulder, rendered with fine engraving typical of Antonine-period provincial bronzes. The encircling legend naming the Smyrnaeans appears in Greek characters around the field. The overall style reflects the dignified local artistic tradition of Ionia during the second century AD.
