Reverse description A griffin seated to the left occupies the central field, its eagle head, wings, and leonine body rendered with characteristic Alexandrian craftsmanship. The creature raises its right forepaw and rests it upon a wheel, a combination of motifs associating Nemesis with solar symbolism and fate. The regnal date legend L ΔΕ appears in the field, denoting the tenth year of Hadrian's reign. The type is well-centred on this irregularly shaped flan, with green patination obscuring some fine detail.
