Reverse description A kalathos (sacred grain basket) depicted centrally in the field, flanked on either side by a tall lit torch, all rendered in typical Alexandrian provincial style. The kalathos, symbol of fertility and abundance associated with the cult of Serapis, is shown with a woven lattice pattern. The regnal year legend appears in the field, dating the issue to Hadrian's tenth Egyptian regnal year. The reverse field shows moderate wear with traces of green patina consistent with the obverse.
