| Reverse description | A kalathos (sacred grain basket) depicted centrally in the field, flanked on either side by a tall lit torch, all rendered in typical Alexandrian provincial style. The kalathos, symbol of fertility and abundance associated with the cult of Serapis, is shown with a woven lattice pattern. The regnal year legend appears in the field, dating the issue to Hadrian's tenth Egyptian regnal year. The reverse field shows moderate wear with traces of green patina consistent with the obverse. |

| Additional information |
Year 10 of Hadrian's reign — rendered on Alexandrian bronzes as L ΔΕ — fell during his first great tour of the eastern provinces, a journey that brought him to Egypt in 130 AD, though this piece predates that visit by roughly four years. Alexandrian civic bronzes of this period were produced under Roman prefectural authority using the Egyptian regnal dating system, a administrative hybrid that survived well past the conquest of 30 BC.
