Reverse description Telesphorus, the deity of convalescence and son of Asclepius, depicted standing facing, enveloped in a heavy hooded cloak reaching to his feet, his characteristic frontal pose filling the field. The ethnic legend of Nicaea runs around the periphery. The figure is rendered in the compact, stylized manner typical of Bithynian provincial bronze coinage of the Antonine period.
