Parium, a Greek colony on the Propontis (modern Marmara Ereğlisi), retained the right to issue civic bronze under Roman provincial administration, and this piece names two local aediles — C. Matvinus and T. Anicius — whose magistracies anchor it to the mid-first century BC. The naming of Roman-style magistrates on Greek civic bronze is itself diagnostic of Parium's deeply Romanized municipal culture, unusual even among the cities of the Adramyteum conventus. 45 BC places production squarely in the final year of Caesar's dictatorship.
