Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena Parthenos facing right, depicted in the Pheidian tradition with a crested Attic helmet adorned with decorative relief work. The portrait is rendered in high relief with bold, classical styling characteristic of Athenian civic bronzes of the Augustan period. The neck is truncated cleanly, and the field around the bust is plain and unlegended.
