Germe was a minor Mysian city of little political weight, which makes its civic bronze coinage under Antoninus Pius somewhat surprising in volume. The inscription ΔΡΝΕ appearing in the right field is a date rendered in the Sullan era, used across several cities in the Pergamene conventus — the abbreviation places this piece within a locally maintained calendrical system that ran independently of the imperial reckoning.
