| 表面の説明 | Bare head of the emperor Tiberius facing right, rendered in profile with finely engraved hair swept forward. The portrait is set within a circular field bordered by a beaded inner rim. The Greek legend ΚΑΙΣΑΡ ΕΠΙ ΜΕΝΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs around the periphery, identifying the emperor by his title and naming the local magistrate Menandros responsible for the issue. |

Aezani, a Phrygian city best known archaeologically for its exceptionally well-preserved Temple of Zeus, issued bronze coinage under Tiberius within the administrative framework of the Sardis conventus — one of the judicial circuits through which Rome managed the province of Asia. The city's civic coinage during this reign is relatively scarce, and RPC I 3059 represents a narrow window of local mint activity falling within the years of Germanicus's eastern command, before his death at Antioch in 19 AD complicated Roman administrative arrangements across the region.
