Obverse description Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Septimius Severus facing right, with characteristic full beard rendered in short curls. The imperial effigy is depicted in the provincial style typical of Moesian mint production, with the laureate wreath clearly delineated. The encircling Greek legend runs along the periphery of the flan.

Reverse description Dionysos standing nude, facing left, his weight shifted onto his left leg in a relaxed contrapposto pose. In his extended right hand he holds a cluster of grapes, while his left hand grasps a long thyrsos — the staff of giant fennel topped with a pine cone — characteristic attribute of the god of wine. The Greek mint legend is disposed around the field.
