| Obverse description | Draped bust of the emperor Nero facing right, lightly bearded, shown in youthful portrait style characteristic of his early reign. The effigy displays a paludamentum or draped garment over the shoulder. A Greek imperial legend surrounds the bust, partially visible around the periphery of the flan. The strike is moderately well-centred on a somewhat irregular flan, with a green patina obscuring fine detail. |
