Obverse description Bare-headed male bust facing right, identified as Poseidon, rendered in a bold and somewhat crude provincial style characteristic of Julio-Claudian civic bronzes. The deity displays a mature bearded visage with flowing hair, the locks rendered in low relief. A trident is visible over the left shoulder, serving as the primary iconographic attribute identifying the figure as the sea god, patron deity of Chalcis. The flat, unadorned field bears no legend, the entire surface covered with an olive-green patina.

Reverse description A conical baetyl, the sacred cult stone associated with the sanctuary at Chalcis, depicted frontally at centre within a distyle naiskos or aedicule. The shrine is rendered with two prominent columns supporting a horizontal entablature with a stepped cornice above, the whole resting upon a visible stylobate with stepped base. The architectural framing is rendered in a schematic but recognisable provincial style. The ethnic legend ΧΑΛΚΙΔΕΩΝ curves around or appears in the field, identifying the issuing civic authority of Chalcis in Euboea.
