| Obverse description | Bare-headed male bust facing right, identified as Poseidon, rendered in a bold and somewhat crude provincial style characteristic of Julio-Claudian civic bronzes. The deity displays a mature bearded visage with flowing hair, the locks rendered in low relief. A trident is visible over the left shoulder, serving as the primary iconographic attribute identifying the figure as the sea god, patron deity of Chalcis. The flat, unadorned field bears no legend, the entire surface covered with an olive-green patina. |
