Obverse description Bare head of Lucius Verus facing right, portrayed with short hair in the characteristic style of his early co-reign with Marcus Aurelius. The effigy displays the youthful features associated with Verus on provincial bronze coinage. The surrounding Greek legend reads Α Κ Λ ΑΥ ΟΥΗΡΟϹ, identifying the emperor by his abbreviated imperial titulature. The style is consistent with the local engraving tradition of Pontic provincial mints.
