Obverse description Laureate head of Marcus Aurelius, with long beard, facing right. The portrait is rendered in the typical Antonine provincial style, with the laureate wreath clearly discernible encircling the imperial head. A circular Greek legend surrounds the effigy within the field, reading ΑΥΤ ΚΑΙ Μ ΑΝΤΩΝ, abbreviating the emperor's imperial titulature.

Reverse description The cult statue of Artemis Leukophryene depicted full-length, standing facing, in the characteristic xoanon style with supports at the sides, crowned by two winged Nikai in flight on either side of the goddess. The composition is flanked by two eagles standing with wings spread, one on each side of the cult image. The ethnic legend ΜΑΓΝΗΤΩΝ is inscribed in the field, identifying the issuing city of Magnesia ad Maeandrum.
