| Reverse description | Tyche, the personification of civic fortune, stands facing left in full figure, wearing a kalathos (modius) upon her head, a hallmark attribute of this deity in Asia Minor provincial coinage. She holds a rudder in her right hand, symbolizing guidance of the city's destiny, and a cornucopia in her left arm, representing abundance. The figure is rendered in the conventional Hellenistic style common to Lydian civic bronzes. The ethnic legend ΝΑΚΡΑϹΕΩΝ (of the Nacraseans) is disposed around the reverse field, identifying the issuing city. |
