The laureate wreath is rendered with radiating leaves around the head, while the cuirass is visible at the shoulder. The encircling Greek legend reads ΑΥ ΤΡΑΙΑΝΟϹ ΑΔΡΙΑΝΟϹ, identifying the emperor in the field surrounding the effigy. The flan is irregular in shape, consistent with hand-struck provincial bronze coinage of the second century AD. |
