Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, portrayed in three-quarter rear view with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The imperial effigy is rendered in the typical provincial style of the Conventus of Ephesus. The Greek legend ΓΟΡΔΙΑΝΟϹ runs around the bust in the field.

Reverse description Asclepius, the god of medicine, depicted standing facing, robed in a long chiton and himation, leaning upon his serpent-entwined staff (the caduceus of Asclepius) held in his right hand. The figure occupies the central field, with the ethnic legend ΔΙΟϹΙΕΡΕΙΤΩΝ distributed around the periphery, identifying the issuing community of the Diosierites.
