| Obverse description | Laureate head of the emperor Domitian facing right, with characteristic features of the Flavian portrait style rendered in low relief. The bust is truncated at the neck. A Greek imperial legend encircles the effigy, reading ΔΟΜΙΤ ΚΑΙϹΑΡ ϹΕΒ ΓΕΡΜΑΝΙΚΟϹ (Domitian Caesar Augustus Germanicus), distributed around the periphery of the flan. The die work reflects the provincial style of the Cyzicene mint. |
