| Reverse description | Bearded head of a Satyr facing right, with the rear portion of the head covered by a distinctive drapery or animal skin, a hallmark iconographic detail in Dionysiac imagery on Nicaean provincial coinage. The naturalistic rendering of the satyr's features, including the full beard and characteristic facial type, reflects the Hellenistic artistic tradition maintained in Bithynian civic issues. The ethnic legend ΝΙΚΑΙΕΩΝ is disposed around the field, identifying the issuing city. The flan is irregular, with a pronounced chip on the lower left edge. |
