Obverse description Laureate head of the emperor Commodus facing right, depicted in the provincial style typical of Bithynian civic coinage. The portrait shows the characteristic features of the emperor with a laurel wreath. A partial Greek legend runs along the periphery, partially off-flan, referencing his imperial titulature as Aurelius Commodus Antoninus. The flan is irregular and the surfaces are heavily patinated.
