| 正面描述 | Laureate head of Emperor Commodus facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Arabian Bostra mint coinage. The effigy displays the emperor's characteristic features with a laurel wreath crown. A circular Greek legend surrounds the portrait, reading partially around the periphery of the flan. The coin exhibits the irregular, somewhat crude workmanship typical of provincial bronze issues of this period. |

Bostra served as the capital of the Roman province of Arabia Petraea after Trajan's annexation in 106 AD, and its civic mint operated with unusual continuity through the reigns of multiple emperors. Under Commodus — whose co-reign with Marcus Aurelius beginning in 177 gives this piece its date range — the city retained substantial autonomy in its local bronze issues, a privilege reflecting its strategic position on the Via Nova Traiana connecting Syria to the Red Sea ports.
