| Beschrijving keerzijde | Standing frontal figure of Emperor Commodus in military dress, head turned to the left, holding a Nike (Victory) on a globe in his right hand and a long spear or sceptre in his left. The composition follows a standard provincial imperial type asserting military authority and divine favour. A Greek legend surrounds the figure, naming the emperor in the nominative. The flan is irregular and the relief is low, consistent with Bithynian provincial bronze coinage of the Antonine period. |
