Obverse description Bare-headed or laureate bust of Emperor Commodus facing right, with draped shoulder visible, portrayed in the provincial Greek style typical of Moesian civic coinage. The circular Greek legend surrounds the effigy, reading ΑΥΤ Κ Μ ΑΥΡ ΑΝΤ ΚΟΜΟΔΟϹ, identifying the emperor by his imperial titulature. The portrait displays characteristic features of Commodan portraiture, with the head truncated at the neck. The flan shows the characteristic green patination of a provincial bronze struck at Odessus.
