| Obverse description | Bare laureate head of Emperor Commodus facing right, with finely rendered wreath and short neck truncation. The imperial effigy is depicted in the characteristic Roman provincial style, with the legend disposed around the periphery of the field. The inscription reads Λ ΑΙ ΑΥΡΗΛΙ ΚΟΜΜΟΔΟϹ, abbreviating the emperor's full titulature in Greek characters. The die work is typical of the Prusian civic mint, showing moderate relief on a dark patinated flan. |
