Obverse description Laureate head of Augustus facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic portrait tradition typical of provincial civic coinage. The effigy is enclosed within a wreath border that frames the entire field. The Greek legend ΣΕΒΑΣΤΟΣ ΑΝΤΙΟΧΕΩΝ is distributed around the portrait, identifying the emperor and asserting civic pride of the Antiochian community. The die work reflects the modest but competent engraving characteristic of the Meandrian conventus workshops under the early Principate.
