| Beschrijving voorzijde | Three-towered castle façade depicted in relief at center, with a prominent central gateway surmounted by crenellated battlements on the flanking towers. Five six-petaled rosettes distributed symmetrically around the castle in the field. The design is rendered in a somewhat schematic, medieval style characteristic of Genoese colonial coinage. No legend present. The flan is irregular and the strike is typical of hammered bronze production. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Cross pattée occupying the center of the die, with a rosette in each of the four quarters formed by the cross arms. A countermark consisting of a pellet-in-annulet surrounded by radiating rays, itself enclosed within a larger annulet, is applied within an incuse punch. The entire reverse type is set within a recessed (incuse) area, consistent with the countermarking practice employed on Genoese colonial issues of Chios. |
