Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Gallienus facing right, depicted from the front in three-quarter view. The emperor's portrait is rendered in the provincial style characteristic of the Ephesian mint, with visible pauldron and folds of the paludamentum at the shoulder. The Greek legend ΛΙΚ ΓΑΛΛΙΗΝΟϹ (Licinius Gallienus) is disposed around the bust in the field. The flan is small and irregularly shaped, as typical of mid-third century provincial bronze coinage from Asia Minor.
