Reverse description Facing cult statue of Artemis Ephesia depicted in the canonical xoanon form, erect and frontal, her body encased in a tight sheath adorned with multiple rows of decorative pendants, with lateral supports flanking the figure on either side. The Greek magistrate legend surrounds the effigy, distributed across the field to the left and right of the statue. The rendering faithfully reproduces the celebrated cult image housed in the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world.
