Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Emperor Septimius Severus facing right, with short curly hair and beard rendered in the characteristic style of his portraiture. The effigy is depicted with a draped and cuirassed bust truncation. The Greek imperial legend inscribed in the field reads Λ ϹΕΠΤ ϹΕΟΥΗΡΟΝ ΠΕΡΤΙΝ ϹΕΒ, identifying the emperor by his full titulature as Lucius Septimius Severus Pertinax Augustus.
