| Obverse description | Draped bust of Agrippina II (Agrippina Minor) facing right, her hair elaborately styled and fastened at the nape, rendered in the naturalistic Julio-Claudian tradition. The portrait presents the empress in queenly attire with visible drapery folds over the shoulder. The encircling Greek legend ΑΓΡΙΠΠΙΝΑ(Ν) ϹΕΒΑϹΤΗ(Ν) runs around the bust, identifying her with the title Augusta. The flan is irregular and somewhat worn, typical of provincial hammered bronze coinage of this period. |
