| Obverse description | Bare-headed bust of Heracles facing right, depicted with characteristic leonine features, the Nemean lion skin knotted at the throat and draped around the neck. The portrait is rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of Lydian civic coinage. A circular legend surrounds the bust in the field, reading ΕΠΙ ΤΙ ΜΝΑϹΕΟΥ ϹΑΡΔΙΑΝΩΝ, identifying the magistrate Ti. Mnaseas and the city of Sardis. |
