Obverse description Veiled and draped bust of the Gerousia personified, facing right, rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of Carian civic coinage of the Antonine period. The veil falls softly over the head and shoulders, conveying the dignified, semi-divine status of the civic institution. The legend ΓΕΡΟΥϹΙΑ encircles the bust in Greek majuscules. The flan is slightly irregular, consistent with hand-struck provincial bronze production.

Reverse description An eagle stands facing, with wings spread and head turned to the left, rendered in the bold, schematic style characteristic of provincial Carian bronzes. The bird is depicted with outstretched wings filling much of the field, conveying imperial and divine power as a symbol associated with Zeus and Roman authority. The ethnic legend ΑΦΡΟΔΕΙϹΙΕΩΝ is disposed around the type in Greek majuscules, identifying the issuing city of Aphrodisias. The overall composition is compact and well-centred despite the irregular flan.
