The mural crown with crenellated towers surmounts the head, symbolising the fortified city, while drapery is visible across the shoulders. The ethnic legend ΑΡΕΑΠΟΛΙϹ runs around the periphery, identifying the issuing city. The reverse is executed in the local provincial tradition, with a dotted border encircling the design on the irregular flan. |

Rabbath-Moba — the Roman Areopolis, modern Rabba in Jordan — was a minor civic center in Arabia Petraea whose coin output was sparse and geographically constrained. Issues under Elagabalus from this mint are among the least frequently encountered of the provincial series from the region, a function of limited local demand rather than any single minting event. The city's bronze coinage effectively ceased shortly after his reign.
