Obverse description Laureate head of Domitian facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of Caesarea Paneas issues. The portrait shows the emperor with a wreath of laurel, the facial features executed in moderate relief consistent with Herodian-era provincial coinage. The circular Greek legend ΔΟΜΙΤΙΑΝΟϹ ΚΑΙϹΑΡ runs around the periphery of the flan. The flan is irregular and slightly uneven, as is characteristic of hammered provincial bronzes of this period.
