Obverse description Laureate head of the emperor Domitian facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of the Ionian mint of Samos. The portrait displays the characteristic features of Flavian imperial iconography, with the laurel wreath encircling the head. The encircling Greek legend reads ΔΟΜΙΤΙΑΝΟϹ ΚΑΙϹΑΡ, identifying the emperor as Domitian Caesar. The flan is slightly irregular, as is common for struck provincial bronzes of this period.

Reverse description Two peacocks standing facing one another in a heraldic arrangement, their tails visible behind them, serving as the sacred emblems of Hera, whose principal sanctuary, the Heraion, was located on Samos. The birds are rendered in a schematic provincial style. The ethnic legend ϹΑΜΙΩΝ is inscribed around the design, identifying the issuing civic authority. The peacock type is a well-attested and distinctive symbol of Samian civic coinage.
