The flan is irregular and the strike somewhat off-center, consistent with provincial hammered coinage of this period. |

The figure references the celebrated cult image of the sanctuary of Apollo at Didyma, near Miletus, one of the great oracular shrines of the ancient world. The Greek ethnic legend ΜΙΛΗϹΙΩΝ is disposed around the periphery of the flan. The relief is low and the surfaces show typical green patination consistent with provincial Ionian bronze coinage. |
