| Obverse description | Bare head of Antoninus Pius facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of the Mysian mint at Abydus. The portrait is poorly preserved beneath heavy encrustation, with the facial features largely obscured by patination. The obverse legend is fragmentary and indistinct, with only partial lettering surviving around the periphery, attributing the coin to the Abydans. |
