Obverse description Bare head of Zeus Akraios facing right, rendered in the provincial Greek style with coarse but expressive die-cutting typical of mid-third century Smyrnaean bronzes. The deity's facial features, including a broad forehead and flowing hair, are discernible despite significant surface wear. The Greek legend ΖΕΥϹ ΑΚΡΑΙΟϹ appears in the field, identifying the divinity as Zeus of the Summit, a cult epithet associated with Mount Sipylos near Smyrna.
