Obverse description Laureate bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, with drapery visible on the left shoulder. The effigy is rendered in the characteristic Roman imperial style of the early 2nd century AD, with the laurel wreath denoting imperial and divine authority. The coin's small module and irregular flan result in a somewhat compressed portrait typical of Alexandrian provincial bronze coinage of this period. The surrounding field is largely plain, with no visible legend preserved on this example.
